ABOUT US

This photo is NOT AI...this is actually my dog James. He has a big ol' smile and is the president of quality control here at The M.S.S.

I’m Karina, the 25-year-old maker behind Mustard Seed Stitchery. I’ve always had a passion for craftsmanship and the lost art of things made to last. Useful things. Well-made things. Things worth keeping and passing down.

Before Mustard Seed Stitchery, I built and ran Lost Art Gift Co., choosing everyday objects with that same standard in mind. After years of searching for them, I began asking a different question: What if I made them myself?

So I started with something I use every day: a bag. I studied the materials, construction, and small details that make a bag worth keeping, then began creating my own with heavy cotton canvas, full-grain leather, solid brass and copper hardware, and careful hand finishing.

Every bag is made by hand in Tucson, Arizona, in small quantities. Each starts with new materials, but its worn appearance is intentional. I work and finish the canvas by hand, giving each bag the look of a history before it has one. Variations in leather, canvas, markings, and finish make every piece its own. You’re choosing the actual bag pictured, not an example of what yours might look like.

I’m not interested in disposable bags or chasing whatever happens to be popular this year. I want to make heirloom-quality pieces that carry what you need, hold up to daily use, and develop more character with time.

The name Mustard Seed Stitchery comes from Jesus’ words in Matthew 17:20. It reminds me to trust God through every season, in joy and sorrow, abundance and uncertainty, even when I can’t see what lies ahead. Faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains!

That’s the heart behind Mustard Seed Stitchery.

Make it well. Make it useful. Make it last.

Buy less. Use it longer.
